Primary 5 to 11 Years

In Primary, we follow the National Curriculum for England, adapted to our unique international context. Through engaging units of inquiry, subjects come to life and connect meaningfully with the world around us. Students are encouraged to be inquisitive and innovative in their thinking, to approach challenges with curiosity and creativity, and to see how their ideas and actions can make a positive difference.

Key Stage One Curriculum (Years 1 and 2)

Our Key Stage One curriculum is guided by big ideas—broad, meaningful concepts that children explore through their own developing interests and questions. A central part of our approach is helping students develop the skills expected in Years 1 and 2, supported by continuous and enhanced provision in the classroom, across all subjects, and enriched through inspiring trips.

The curriculum builds naturally on the Early Years Foundation Stage areas of learning and teachers guide the learning process to ensure that knowledge, skills, and understanding from different subjects are connected in purposeful and meaningful ways. The culmination of each topic may take a variety of forms, giving students authentic opportunities to showcase their learning.

Key Stage One students also benefit from specialist teaching in Physical Education, Swimming, Music, PSHE, Mandarin, and Thai. Thai is taught both as a first language and separately as a second language.

Key Stage Two Curriculum (Year 3 to Year 6)

In Key Stage 2, children take on greater challenges and develop increasing independence. Our classrooms are purposeful spaces where students are encouraged to be inquisitive, to explore and create with confidence, and to use their imagination to bring ideas to life.

Each unit of inquiry begins with a ‘hook’ designed to capture curiosity and spark new thinking. As the unit develops, subjects are connected in meaningful ways, and learning often culminates in authentic outcomes such as a presentation, digital project, or exhibition. These opportunities not only showcase what children have achieved, but also highlight the process, including the mistakes, revisions and fresh ideas that are all part of learning.

Specialist lessons in Physical Education, Music, Art, Thai and Mandarin further enrich the curriculum. Thai is offered both as a first and an additional language, while from Year 3, children may also choose Spanish or Mandarin.

By connecting learning across subjects together and linking classroom experiences to the world beyond school, students learn to think critically, collaborate inclusively and begin to recognise how their ideas and actions can make a positive difference.
