Secondary IGCSE
Key Stage 4 and IGCSEs
At HHIS, we offer a comprehensive program of Cambridge IGCSEs for students aged 14–16. These globally recognized qualifications provide an excellent foundation for academic and professional success, preparing students to thrive in an ever-changing world. Our carefully curated selection of subjects reflects the diverse needs and interests of our learners, ensuring a well-rounded education. With a focus on inclusivity and internationalism, our IGCSE program is a great stepping stone to the IB pathway offered in Year 12 and 13.
A successful student in Year 10 and 11 takes advantage of the opportunities on offer and mindfully focuses on developing their approach to learning including improving skills such as researching, collaboration and self management. Success requires hard work, resilience and a growth mindset. This is promoted through our eight I-Values, which underpin the attitudes and characteristics that we cherish and nurture in our students throughout their time with us.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced so that no single subject or way of thinking is able to dominate the timetable. The arts feature as prominently as the sciences.
Additionally, our extra curricular program aims to compliment the academic focus. Students are strongly encouraged to get involved in as much as possible. Some of the extra curricula opportunities on offer include: A Key Stage 4 residential trip, FOBISIA Battle of the Bands, Model United Nations, FOBISIA Basketball competition, Key Stage 4 Challenge days, Event planning ECA's, Student Ambassador roles, an Art and Music residential in Bangkok and many many more.
HHIS is very deliberately an inclusive school where individuals flourishes and where difference and diversity enrich the entire community. While everyone takes great pride in seeing our most able students reach the highest possible standards of attainment, we are equally thrilled to celebrate huge leaps of progress made by all children along their own learning journeys.
No matter what a student’s hopes and ambitions are beyond HHIS, one thing is always the same - success in school leads to future success. Success for one person, however, may be through a different path than one selected by someone else. We always recommend that students choose a program that suits them. We will guide and support students so they are able to identify their strengths and recognise the areas of study that interest them the most.
It is an exciting time for our students as they enter Key Stage 4 and begin studying Cambridge IGCSEs. All our subjects have been designed to suit the needs and interests of our students, so that they can enjoy a broad range of academic challenges and achieve success.
Through the variety of subjects that students study and the practical nature of work embedded throughout the curriculum, students develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. Our students make good progress studying in Year 10 and 11 and everyone is able to make an impact in the classroom and in the community. There are a variety of opportunities to make a real difference and we are proud of the contributions our students make. As well as developing exam skills, our students develop leadership qualities that are integral part of our school I Values.
As a school we pride ourselves on our caring environment, where students, parents and staff work together with the common goal of achieving success. We welcome any questions you may have and we will be delighted to support you in selecting the future subjects that you wish to study.
